In the news
📰 Recent media reports have indicated that Ugandans had been banned from going to Dubai. With others claiming it was not true.
So - whats the truth!?
ℹ️ It was confirmed: A temporary ban has been put on all NEW 'Tourist and Work' Visa applications - starting in January 2026.
ℹ️ But state foreign Minister - Okello Oryem - also says the ban is only targeting high risk individuals who overstay or engage in unlawful activities.
ℹ️ And that the new rules do not affect those already living and working in the UAE with valid visas.
But why is the ban coming now?
The timing of this ban is linked to a recent BBC investigation that exposed a sex trafficking ring in Dubai, allegedly run by a Ugandan national, which exploited vulnerable Ugandan women
We hope it ends soon ..
Because it will affect innocent Ugandans who had finalised plans to travel for work, business and leisure to Dubai in January.
⚽️ Sports - In yesterday's UEFA Champions League, Manchester City defeated Napoli 2-0, while Barcelona secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Newcastle United.

'We should respect the laws, especially the visa regime of other countries. When Ugandans overstay or break rules in UAE - it spoils the good relations between our nations' Mr. Okello Oryem.
