🧵 In Business, Masheda Foods; a fish farming enterprise, has opened a new catfish processing factory in Mpigi. The 25-acre facility has 107 fishponds with a capacity of 110 tones, a hatchery, a feed mill and a packing plant.
The company produces; smoked fillets, burgers, and sausages, which are exported to over 60 retail outlets in Kinshasa, Nairobi and other growing regional markets.
Also, the company runs two social programs: a rehabilitation initiative training 500 formerly homeless youths in fish farming, and 'Nkore Designs' - which provides training and income to 50 single mothers who weave high-quality reed crafts.
