Ready for the new week?

Lets start with

📆 Today in 🌍 African History.

In 1869 – Construction on Suez Canal  was finalised.

🌏 And elsewhere.

In 2003  - Arnold Schwarzenegger  was sworn in as Californian Governor.

The bodybuilder and actor best known for movies like; The Terminator,  Commando & Predator, replaced then Governor Gray Davis. And In 2007 - Schwarz was elected for another term.

⁉️ We had a question on Friday.  Check it out here

Thank You for the responses... we loved them.

But the correct answer is :  The man should choose the door leading to the den of lions.

Why?

Because the Lions which haven't  eaten in three months would have starved to death long before he opened the door. The man can safely walk through the den.

In the news.

📰 Besigye makes one year in prison

📰 In Business.. Uganda & Kenya's Economic Trade with the UAE Surpasses $2 Billion

📰 Meanwhile: M23 Rebels and DRC have Signed a Peace Framework

While In Doha, Quatar - both parties sat down and talked with the aim of ending the long-running conflict in eastern Congo.

This agreement offers fresh hope for stability in the region, which has been plagued by violence for months. Regional leaders, including President M7,  have been heavily involved in facilitating dialogue.

📰  Elsewhere - In TZ , Post-Election unrest is to be investigated.

Following the recent general elections, President Samia Suluhu Hassan has ordered an investigation into reported deaths and violence during post-election protests.

This action is seen as part of her broader strategy for national healing and reconciliation following a politically tense period.

📰⚽️ And in sports -  Yesterday was International Day for Tolerance.

And to celebrate it - FIFA began the "No Discrimination" campaign, focusing heavily on combating online abuse.

The main initiative is the Social Media Protection Service (SMPS), which monitors the social media accounts of players, teams, and officials. Since its launch, over 65,000 abusive posts have been reported to social platforms for removal.

FIFA is also blacklisting individuals responsible for highly abusive behaviour to prevent them from buying tickets for future tournaments.

This demonstrates a clear commitment to ensuring football remains a safe and inclusive space, both on and offline.

That will be all.

Have a good week ahead.
