Do you remember the Referendum on Multi-Party Politics in July 2005 ?

Twenty years ago - Ugandans voted to end the Movement system of government and start multi- party politics.

We went from only one Movement to the current; NRM, NUP, DP, UPC, PFF, CP, DA, PP, DPNRM,MOMO, JEEMA, KPP, UPCNRM, JUT, KCCA, UAB, UTC etc..

But that aside - here is summary of today's stories around Uganda.

The only summary you need before you embark on your day's work.

President Museveni is actively touring Wakiso District, focusing on wealth creation programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM). He's pledged to increase PDM funding for urban areas and emphasized the importance of household wealth over just infrastructure.

In political news, a new law, the Political Parties and Organisations Amendment Act, is drawing criticism from the opposition, with a National Unity Platform (NUP) lawyer calling it an attempt to stifle their activities.

Meanwhile, lawyer Dennis Enap has announced his bid for the Uganda People's Congress (UPC) presidency, aiming to unite the divided party. Madam Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga is also campaigning to retain her position on the NRM's Central Executive Committee (CEC), rallying women leaders in Busoga for support.

On a positive note for the economy, the Inspector General of Government (IGG) has successfully thwarted a Shs 13.3 billion land fraud scam, preventing a significant loss of public funds.

Also, NMG and partners have launched the 2025 Top 100 Mid-Sized Companies Survey, highlighting the critical role of SMEs in Uganda's economy.

Finally, in transport, Zembo Motorcycles has secured $1 million in funding from the Dutch FMO to expand its electric motorbike fleet and charging infrastructure, promoting clean energy in Uganda.

And residents of Kayunga are hopeful as President Museveni is set to officiate the groundbreaking for the long-awaited Kayunga-Galilaaya Road tarmacking tomorrow.
