The National Budget Conference for financial year 2026/2027 is ongoing at Speke Resort - Munyonyo. Ministry of Finance uses this annual event to:

📰 Today, President M7 is hosting His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan - on his first official visit to Uganda since becoming king in February 2025.
They visit is about:
▶ Launching the new Aga Khan University in Nakawa, Kampala. A seven-story university center with a nine-story student housing complex, and a four-story ambulatory care facility.
▶ Groundbreaking for the Aga Khan University Hospital: a 101-bed referral and teaching facility that will be completed in 2027.
These two initiatives are Agha Khan's largest single investments in education and healthcare in Uganda to date.

With a century of work and projects spanning various sectors - They run:
▶ The Aga Khan High School, Kampala. Established in 1959 as Uganda's first multicultural school. ▶ The Bujagali Hydropower Plant and the West Nile Rural Electrification Company ▶ Kampala Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. ▶and The Serena Hotels in Kampala - among others.
The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) also works in remote, rural areas to support poverty alleviation through financial literacy training, community savings groups, and youth skilling.
