Here is a summary of the news today. 

🏀  Ugandan Basketball star, Arthur Kaluma has been signed by LA-Lakers in America.  The 23 year old, who represented Uganda at both the 2021 FIBA Afro Basketball and 2023 FIBA world cup  qualifiers, will now play alongside -Lebron James.  

▶️ President M7, yesterday met Kenya's High Commissioner to Uganda, H.E. Joash Maangi, at  State House, Entebbe. The talks were about bilateral relations: particularly cross-border cooperation and regional security plus addressing issues like Migingo Island tensions and nomadic pastoralist conflicts.

▶️ Meanwhile,  Uganda's Coffee continues to be a money making machine. Details from the Agric Ministry showed a  78% year on year increase in earnings of up to Ush 1 triilion and a 52% jump in export volumes in June 2025.

▶️ And finally, Ministry of Finance is set introduce a National Central Electronic Monitoring System to track bets & wins in real time.  Details show that URA  collections from betting companies increased to 323 bn  in June 2025 from 50bn in June 2020, although there is still a lot of leakage and non compliance.
