Welcome Welcome
Lets start with
📆 Today in History
In 1957 – The Camp Nou stadium was opened. Owned by FC Barcelona - the 99,000 seater stadium - is the largest in Europe and the 11th largest in the world.
And Elsewhere: Today is Heritage Day in South Africa. Known as 'Braai Day' it's a holiday that encourages South Africans to celebrate their diverse cultural wealth, beliefs, and traditions.
⁉️ Finally, we managed to get responses to Yesterday's question... 😊!we love you so much.
Here is what Crispus Kitandwe from Kololo told us.
'The biggest issue i would tackle is Agriculture. We have the land, the people -plus the time and seasons to produce food & beverages that can feed the whole of Uganda & the rest of East Africa - while employing 70 to 80% of our young and growing population"
😊 Thank You, Crispus.
📰 Today is Science news and we are talking Music.
You should have heard of Spotify by now.
But if you have not - don't worry. We got you.
Spotify, founded in 2006, is a global audio streaming and media services provider that offers users access to a big fat library of music, podcasts, and audiobooks.
Spotify uses a business model of offering free streaming services but with limitations like advert interruptions, limited song skips and the inability to downlaod content for offline listening...
...this enables spotify to attract many users - which users then serve as an audience for advertisers.
It also offers subscription packages for users who do not want any interruptions... Going for between 11,000 to 20,000 Uganda shillings - You can enjoy high quality content without any advert interruptions and also be able to download it.
The app has over 100 million songs from a wide range of artists, record labels, and genres. It has also entered into podcasting, acquiring major podcast studios and signing exclusive deals with popular creators like Joe Rogan.
Lately, they have added audiobooks - widening the menu for its listeners.
Another cool thing about Spotify is its use of AI and data analytics to create personalized experiences. Features like "Discover Weekly," "Daily Mixes," and the AI-powered "DJ" provide curated content recommendations based on a user's listening habits.
But in 2020 - something strange happened.
You see - previously, other music apps and various DJ software could intergrate or 'work with' Spotify allowing users to access to a variety of music and related content.
In 2020 - Spotify stopped this arrangement saying they had entered into problematic licensing issues and unfavourable business conditions.
But things are changing again - Spotify is now re-engaging with the DJ community to resurrect these partnerships in order to provide a comprehensive experience for music creators and enthusiasts.
Spotify Premium users in 51 markets - including Africa - can now log in to their account directly through supported desktop DJ software. This means they can instantly browse, mix, and perform with millions of songs from Spotify's catalog...
Examples of these DJ apps are: rekordbox - from Pioneer DJ, Serato DJ and djay from Algoriddim.
...Isn't that NICE?
That's it for today.
Thank You so much.
